Meet Coco, a macaw at the butterfly house. I think he's a blue & yellow macaw, but I know he's certainly a character! I got to go into the parrot enclosure for the first time yesterday, this was by far the best shot I got. :D

This is cute. =)
The pose is good, and the focus and DOF are excellent. They bokeh's quite nice, although it's a shame that you can see blurred-out bars in the background.
The colours are very pretty, although I think you could increase the saturation a little bit to really make them pop.
I feel the right side is to tightly cropped - I don't like how part of the bird has been cut off. And there ought to be a bit more space on the left side, because that's the way the macaw's facing.

Nice shot. =D

Thanks for your input. I agree about the bars, I don't usually like any photos of mine that don't look completely natural. Though I'm still pleased with this one, given that the parrot aviary is IMPOSSIBLE to get photos in without the bars (it's long and thin, too many bars to avoid!), and the parrots never sit still either...

Yeah, I know the trouble with bars well. :P

You're welcome. =)

Yes, he's a Blue & Yellow (or Blue & Gold) Macaw. Lovely shot. :)
